Economic Cybernetics and Information Technologies Department
Department of Economic Cybernetics and Information technologies (ECIT) is a Department of Business, Economics and Information Technologies in Odessa National Polytechnic University.
The department trains bachelors, masters in 051 "Economics" specialization "Economic Cybernetics" and "Applied Economics", PhD 051 specialty "Economics".

Development in the early 60's automatic control systems in various industries require experts for their creation and operation. The first university in Odessa responded to this need Odessa Polytechnic Institute. In 1964 the initiative economist Dianova IP and mathematics Heorhalina RA Rector of the support OPI Yampolsky SM were designed study needs specialists mechanized information processing management, received permission to establishment of the department "Automation of management and planning of production" (automatic) and the Engineering and Economics Faculty (IEF) in the Department Automatic, the department "Economics of industrial enterprises" which operated until this, as well as newly created department "engineering Economy".
Automatic first head was Associate Dianov Ivan.
In 1965 began the educational process at IEF two specialties: 1738 "mechanized processing of economic information" and 1709 "Economics of engineering companies." To speed up the release of the first specialists in the 2nd course in 1709 invited students and other universities PGI Odessa.
The department increased its capacity and working on a very promising areas of improvement and increase of economic efficiency of enterprises and regions of the republic on the basis of OT.
The first edition (1969), noted in June 2014 its 45th anniversary, the first diploma, the first division, first successes and characters.
Difficulties almost was not. All graduates defended their diploma with certificate of implementation and so they created a new skeleton senior professionals who had to throw away all difficulties to overcome skepticism that existed then in the workplace.
The department learned and foreign experts. Has established strong links with universities and companies in Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, on. Cuba, where students took practice, and teachers learned and shared experience of training specialists of this profile.
Continuous development department is in the direction of improving the system, forms and methods of training, design methodology of the educational process, recovery of computer technology, training of teachers passing through internships, thesis defense, scientific and research work on the state budget and economic subjects.
Areas of activity of graduates are very diverse. These are those key jobs (leadership, etc) that take graduates - are employees of banks, auditing services, tax, advertising agencies large companies and corporations. A large group of graduates (29 persons) work abroad - in Australia, Canada, Germany, USA and others.

Today the department fully staffed department graduates, whose structure is determined by the ratio high scientific human resources.
Teachers and researchers of the department are actively involved in the organization of data centers Odessa enterprises in the development of various other works. By the early 70's were designed and operated data centers NPO "Kyslorodmash", the "AB" plant of radial drilling machines and others.
